Essay

The thesis is devoted to actual problems of environmental monitoring of land degradation. The technology assessment of anthropogenic pollution of soils by integrated use of remote sensing data, agrochemical survey and GIS. To assess the humus content in the soil, according to remote sensing, the solution of pair regression equation was obtained, which is characterized by maximum value of the correlation ratio and minimal residual dispersion. A method for identification of the migration areas of soluble pollutants allowed to build a land degradation index map and migration directions of soluble pollutants. The system of assessing the level of soil degradation is elaborated based on the indirect descramble characteristics (state of vegetation), which allows differentiated fertilization. An ecological-agrochemical map of the agricultural lands was set up, which shows the spatial distribution and extent of fields degradation in Brody district (Lviv region). An algorithm for predicting soil degradation was elaborated as well as the graphs that reflect the dynamics of anthropogenic soil degradation. An information system was created for environmental monitoring of soil in Brody district (Lviv region). The main results of the thesis were applied at the research institutions.
