The widespread type of fracture as fatigue cracking of such structures metallic elements has been considered at the thesis. The developed methods are based on the calculation models of fatigue cracks initiation and growth, as well as on experimental methods for determining the static and fatigue mechanical properties of metal materials of investigated long-operated locomotive details. The proposed in the thesis calculation models of fatigue cracks initiation and growth were built based on energetic approach of fracture mechanics of materials.
