Essay

The main approaches to the ludic phenomenon in culture are analysed, peculiarities of this complicated issue are described according to different scholars and schools of thought. Anthropological approach by J. Huizinga and framework of "carnivalisation" by M. Bakhtin are defined as complementary, that allows to analyse complicated literary phenomena thoroughly. The deficiency of critical and publicistic materials distinguishes "Literaturnyi yarmarok" from the majority of other periodicals of the epoch. The ideas performed in the magazine demonstrated strong boundaries established in "Vaplite". The wide range of ludic devices knits "Literaturnyi yarmarok" with futuristic "Nova generacia" and out-group "Universal'nyi zhurnal". "Literaturnyi yarmarok" created own original format of periodical. The ludic strategies and their realization on all levels of almanac's text are investigated in the dissertation. The authors of "Literaturnyi yarmarok" modified baroque genre of interlude that worked out as commentaries to published texts and embodied the dialog with reader. In spite of the variety of bright laughter and menippean features, "Literaturnyi yarmarok" can't be defined as "carnivalisation" by M. Bakhtin because of its elitism, intellectuality and sarcastic laughter. Mystification is widely presented in the text of "Literaturnyi yarmarok". Mystifications in the strict sense are presented by original numeration of almanac volumes, dispute "Zelena kobyla" and correspondence of editorial board members. Mystifications as understood widely are presented by original editors' masks who accomplished text framing in individual manner and made it independent art work. "Literaturnyi yarmarok" belongs to several contexts at the same time and affirms a special model of culture itself. Fair model, baroque tradition, features of carnival and menippea, different types of mystifications and original authors' masks create complex polysemantic textual structure. "Literaturnyi yarmarok" belongs to several contexts at the same time and affirms a special model of culture itself.
