Essay

The thesis is devoted to the problem of implementing competence-based approach in teaching Algebra to secondary school pupils. On the basis of the established conceptual model of teaching Algebra in terms of competence-based approach the methodology of realizing competence-based approach in teaching Algebra to secondary school pupils has been described and its components have been determined, namely motivational and value-based, practice-oriented, activity-based and reflexive components. The implementation program of the methodology of realising competence-based approach in teaching Algebra to secondary school pupils has been developed. The collection of competence-oriented tasks in Algebra has been compiled.
