Yatsenko A. Recreational forest management in Northwestern Pryazovia

The thesis considers theoretical and methodological bases for the constructive-geographical investigation of a process of recreational forest management in silvicultural landscapes of Northwestern Pryazovia. An analysis of the original sources, investigated a definition of a territorial recreation system, was carried out. Historical periodization of formation and development of silvicultural landscapes of Northwestern Pryazovia is proposed. The techniques of the constructive-geographical investigation of natural resource capacity of silvicultural plantations on the basis of forest inventory and forest typology indices were improved. These improved techniques had been tested during fieldworks carried out by the author in district territorial recreational silvicultural plantations of Northwestern Pryazovia in 2011-2016. Basing on the data obtained in the course of fieldworks, a natural recreation analysis of properties of silvicultural plantations was made through the prism of tourism and recreation. A map of the study area was developed. Territories the most suitable for active, hiking and health-resort recreational activities were identified. Cognitive pedestrian weekend routes for forest areas of Northwestern Pryazovia were elaborated.
