Object - the written media of Dnipropetrovsk region. The purpose - the systematic analysis of language organization of modern city's written media, the definition and unification of their basic functions. Methods - linguistic observation, descriptive, distributive analysis, induction and deduction, component analysis. The terms "text", "info text" and "media device" in linguistic science have been defined in the paper. The concept "street text" in the broad and narrow meaning has been determined and its main features have been outlined. The necessity and appropriateness of the analyzed unit division into relatively static (ergonyms, hodonyms, ahoronyms) and dynamic (ad text) have been explained. In connection with such division the principles of the factual material certification have been established. The specificity of urbanonym space of the Ukrainian language has been analyzed. The analyzed units have been divided into economic and geographical (ergonyms) and socio-geographical (hodonyms, ahoronyms). The nominative processes in the system of Dnipropetrovsk region urbanonyms are outlined, their main features of word building, stylistic characteristics and types of linguistic deviations that occur in the investigated test material are described. The advertising text, as a component of "street text", functions and types of advertising texts of Dnipropetrovsk region, their structural organization and stylistic features are described. The language and nonverbal means of psychological influence of the advertising text are defined. Sphere - learning process, compilation of catalogues.
