Zhou C. Chinese Calligraphy: from traditions to the practice of appliance in the modern design

The results of the studying of the Chinese calligraphy and its using in subject and space solutions of the past centuries and modern design are represented in the paper. It is stated that art potentiality of hieroglyphics and accumulated during centuries calligraphic experience provided survival of calligraphic traditions in current conditions and made it a sign of identification, specific resource of the design. It is emphasized that the principle of scattering of hieroglyph made it possible to overcome the boundaries of the classical calligraphy and to form basic techniques of a new calligraphy that is used in different types of design activities. The widely spread trends of using calligraphy in the design process have been identified.
