Essay

The thesis is devoted to the poetics of the absurd postmodern novel in the late XX - early XXІ centurіes. The paper describes absurd as interdisciplinary phenomenon and singles it out among other similar concepts at semantic and formal levels that allows to analyze peculiarities of absurd poetics in a postmodern novel as well as distinguish absurd stories for the first time in Ukrainian literary studies. Due to conducted analysis, it has been revealed that the absurd story is inherent in unique type of hero, devoid of positive and negative traits and characteristics that give a person an opportunity to consider itself higher than other creatures. Moreover, the analyzed genre is characteristic of absurd types of headlines, conflicts, finals. Absurd poetics violates the integrity of time-space, there are time and space in metaphorical sense. Communication does not undergo degradation of language an often seems to be at issue.
