This dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of one of the key problem - self-determination of a person. It is given the concise description of views for this problem of the main representatives of different historical periods of the development of philosophical idea and is determined the methodological bases of the investigation of the same problem nowadays, it is grounded essential determination of person self-determination as integral side (attribute) of the existence of a person; it is considered objective and subjective sides need to self-determination on the basis of which are the various aspects and forms of self-determination rights and different mechanisms of self-determination. Chief among which is the identification. Also shows that in the context of globalization and the increasing interaction of different cultures. In these circumstances, a person has to constantly worry about keeping their identity and the setting up of tolerance in relations with other cultures. To solve these problems in society must be created proper economic, social, political, legal and ideological and moral conditions.
