In the thesis the problem of students' professional identity of vocational schools have been researched. The paper presents summarized results of theoretical analysis of literature on identity and professional identity. The model of development of students'professional identity of vocational institution has been suggested. Such components of students' professional identity of vocational schools as reflexive and cognitive, motivational and valuable, emotional and volitional, project-behavioral, active and practical have been distinguished. The criteria for their evaluation and factors of the internal (individual, psychological) and external (objective-organizational, psychological and pedagogical) have been offered. The possibility of development of individual components of identity and increasing of its level during professional training has been experimentally proved. The program of psycho-pedagogical support of professional identity has been substantiated, settled and tested. The main component such as "Training of students' professional identity at vocational schools" has been presented and it has been aimed at development of students' professional identity. The amount of theoretical and empirical information confirms the hypothesis that the development of professional identity depends on the individual psychological characteristics of personality and psychological conditions of special vocational education, which simultaneously affects the professional consciousness of students.
