Essay

Object - phytomeliorative terminology of the Modern Ukrainian language; aim - to ascertain the peculiarities of the system and the structure of phytomeliorative terms and to elaborate the basic foundations and principles to compile a combined terminological dictionary on phytomelioration; methods - descriptive, definitive analysis, structural-semantic analysis, logical-conceptual analysis, comparative, lexical-graphic, elements of quantitative analysis method; novelty - for the first time in the Ukrainian term science phytomeliorative terminology has been researched in complex; the qualitative borders of the analysed terminology have been outlined and its inner branch organization has been defined; composition, structure, sources and the ways of its formation have been studied out; the structural-semantic peculiarities of phytomeliorative terminology have been determined and their paradigmal connections have been described; the principles and parameters of phytomeliorative terminology representation have been proposed. They have not been used in complex in the Ukrainian branch dictionaries before (stress, variants, notes, etymological reference, definition, encyclopedic information, polysemic connections, synonymic, antonymic and genus-kind relations); the conception of a combined branch paper dictionary has been elaborated; the results - the main principal propositions and the results of the work supplement the term science and terminography theory; they can be used when the courses "Lexicology", "Morphemics and Word Formation", "The Ukrainian Language of Professional Use" are lectured, in the special courses and special seminars devoted to the problems of the modern Ukrainian terminology and also in a lexical-graphic practice. The generalizations and observations of the thesis can be used for the further working out of the problem concerning rate setting in the Modern Ukrainian terminology.
