The dissertation presents theoretical justification and a new solution to an important issue in Pediatrics, i.e. to determine prognostic factors of postnatal growth restriction by analyzing characteristics of pregnancy, delivery and psychological status of mothers, the structure of perinatal pathology in infants with very low and extremely low birth weight with the development of prevention measures. The research defined prognostic criteria of postnatal growth restriction, justified the recommendations on medical supervision and prevention of perinatal pathology in infants with very low and extremely low birth weight, study of trace element status in mothers and infants, hearing screening in infants with very low and extremely low birth weight, assessment of maternal anxiety.
