Stefurak M. Mechanisms of interaction between the political opposition and the government on the example of Western Ukraine.

In the thesis a comprehensive analysis of the interaction between the political opposition and the authorities in the Western region of Ukraine is carried out. The definition of "political opposition" from the point of view of applying the institutional approach in political research is clarified. The thesis justifies the methodology of the study of the interaction of the political opposition and the government, determined by their essence, principles, forms and methods of interaction. It analyzes the influence of the form of government on the institutionalization of the authority and the opposition. The historical-cultural, legal and socio-economic conditions of formation and evolution of political opposition as a social institution is investigated. The thesis also identifies the main factors affecting the efficiency of cooperation between the authorities and the opposition, and determines further development trends. It also defines the modern model of the influence of the institution of political opposition to state power and the conditions under which the formation of new structural models of cooperation at the regional and central levels is possible. The results of research allowed to perform and to reveal the deep genetic problems arising in the process of interaction of the government and opposition, and to propose specific models and frameworks of cooperation of the opposition and majority factions in the representative agency of State power; non-parliamentary opposition with the government structures in Ukraine.
