Kovalenko R. Presidential Electoral Campaign in Ukraine and in the USA: Constitutional Comparative Research

The dissertation is the first national constitutional jurisprudence comparative study of campaigning for presidential elections in Ukraine and in the USA. Based on the materials of the US experience, the author proposes to give up on the normative definition of «election campaign» in the laws of Ukraine. This definition is either restricts the forms and types of campaigning, or substantially incomplete. The author argues that there is a need to improve the legal regulation of campaigning in the presidential election Ukraine by giving the priority to the constitutional civil rights. The author also makes some suggestions in order to improve the relevant Ukrainian legislation.
