The thesis presented the results of research and summarized a new approach to risk stratification of ACS' complications, which was based on the multifactor models involving new stress-induced biomarker GDF 15. On the base of the relationship between the level of GDF 15 and adverse outcomes of ACS, the prognostic model was developed. The model can predict mortality during 6-month follow-up after ACS. GDF 15 levels were determined in the first day and could predict worsen of chronic heart failure. The role of biomarker GDF 15 as an independent predictor of acute kidney injury was proved.
