Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of gene polymorphism of endothelin-1 (ET-1) and its relationship with genotypes of the angiotensin II type 1 gene, the plasma levels of ET-1 and C-natriuretic peptide (CNP), blood lipid spectrum, changes in the structural and functional state of the heart and systemic hemodynamics in men without cardiovascular diseases and in patients with essential hypertension (EH) II and III stages (which is complicated by chronic heart failure II A stage), and dermatoglyphics indices, in order to improve current of EH and to improve diagnostic value of ET-1 as a marker in scientific researches in men 40-60 years old, residents of Podillia region in Ukraine. It was found that the inheritance of the Asn allele of the ET-1 gene is associated with higher plasma concentrations of the vasoconstrictor ET-1 and vasodilator CNP, increased pro-atherogenic fractions of lipid blood spectrum and more negative structural and functional changes in myocardium and the third degree of hypertension than the carriers of the genotype Lys/Lys of the ET-1 gene. There were calculated mathematical formulas that allow determine the gene variant of ET-1 in men without cardiovascular diseases and with EH II stage based on dermatoglyphs.
