Essay

The dissertation gives an overview of biological effects of fibrous material with different chemical speciation. Chrysotile showed aggregation of blood cells, intravascular hemolysis of red blood cells, interstitial edema, proteinosis and hepatic steatosis, the formation of calcifications in the lumen of the renal tubules. Amphibole caused degenerative and necrotic changes in cardiomyocytes, chondrocytes, hepatocytes, glia cells; destroyed walls of blood vessels, induced bleeding into the tissues of embryos. Тhe bigger clusters of nanofibers were more dangerous for biological systems. Vacuolization of cells, nuclear polymorphism, chromatin condensation, nuclear destruction (karyorhexis) were demonstrated to conjugated nanofibers.
