Voitsekhovska I. Economic and legal regulation of reinsurance activities.

The thesis is an independent completed scientific work, devoted to the examination of economic and legal regulation of reinsurance activities. It reveals the economic and legal nature of reinsurance. As a result, it founds its specific functions: protecting the property interests of reinsured, providing indirect protection of property interests of insured and forming a reliable insurance market. The thesis also identifies the nature of reinsurance activities as a separate business, defines its concept, features and special principles of procedure. Particular attention it pays to delimitation of the insurance and reinsurance activities. The results of the study identifies the following specific features of reinsurance activities: the subjects of reinsurance activities are professional reinsurers along with insurers, the content of reinsurance activities is provision of reinsurance services, reinsurance activities are carried out in order to meet special reinsuring needs of reinsured.
