The thesis focuses on the problem of future translators’ competence formation in gist and abstract written types of translation of the agricultural scientific articles by using electronic case. The research provides theoretical substantiation and practical elaboration of the teaching methodology to future philologists on translation by using electronic case within the educational platform Moodle. The system of exercises to develop skills in gist and abstract types of translation the agricultural scientific articles into French language has been improved by adding the subsystem of exercises for the formation of skills on gist and abstract types of translation. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology was verified and confirmed during the experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations on teaching written translation to future translators have been developed on this basis to form the competence in gist and abstract types of written translation by using electronic case in the training proces
