Zvoryhina V. Sarcocystosis of animals (distribution, pathogenesis, diagnostics)

The material of the study on distribution and extent of Sarcocystis invasion of cattle and pigs in the Northwestern, Central and Southeastern regions of Ukraine are represented in the thesis. Age dynamics of sarcocystis infestation in cattle and pigs is determined. The intensity and extensity of spontaneous sarcocystis invasion of the cardiac muscle, crura diaphragmae and m. longissimus dorsi of cattle and pigs are determined. Microscopic changes in the myocardium of cattle in case of spontaneous sarcocystosis are described. The features of the pathogenesis of experimental sarcocystosis of dogs based on clinical signs, morphological and biochemical parameters of blood are investigated. Macroscopic and microscopic changes in the organs of dogs in case of experimental sarcocystosis are detected and the possibility of gametogony and sporogony of sarcocysts in the endothelial cells of hepatic blood vessels of the dog as a definitive host is showed.
