Pelenyo N. The course of hairy cell leukemia under pathogenetically substantiated therapy

Object:to optimize therapeutic tactics and to determine factors, influencing the course of HCL. Аim: blood cells, bone marrow cells, karyotype of hemopoietic cells, immunophenotype of lymphoid cells, serum level of cytokines in patients with HCL. Dissertation paper presents complex clinico-hematological characteristic of patients with hairy cell leukemia (HCL). Short-term and long-term results of treatment have been studied and on this basis the most efficient 1st line and subsequent therapy have been determined. Indications for administration of two-stage (IFN-alpha+ 2-CdA) treatment of HCL were proposed and determined.It was revealed that younger age (<40 years), baseline peripheral leukocyte count <1,0x10 9/l l and normocellular bone marrow are unfavorable factors regarding relapse-free survival.It was shown that in case of effective therapy with 2-CdA reliable changes in the levels of sIL-2R і TGFbeta1 are observed with tendency to their normalization, which may suggest the role of these proteins in pathogenesis and clinical course of HCL.Medicine.
