Essay

The thesis analyzes the role of the nation state on the basis of principles and approaches of civilizational paradigm of the social science in the period of emerging market economy. The nature and genesis of the economic functions of the nation state have been reveald in the context of final causes of ensuring the integrity of the market economic system. The paper shows the use of economic institutions as the main form of implementation of the economic functions of the national state in market economic system. There has been considered the features of formation of economic functions of leading states of Western civilization - England, France and Germany in the late XVIIth century- 60-ies of the XIXth century in the period of emerging market economic systems and the opportunities to use their experience for the successful organization of modern market economy in Ukraine.
