This dissertation deals with the Ukrainian oiconyms of the XX century through the prism of ecolinguistics and sociolinguistics. The cooperation of these two modern linguistic disciplines have been proved and the scope of onomastic interests, in particular oiconymy, was traced. The Ukrainian and foreign scientists' views on actual problems of sociolinguistics, ecolinguistics and onomastics have been studied.
