In the thesis the issue of forming teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability during the performance of vocal and choral works is studied. This issue is relevant for music and educational practice not only in Ukraine, but also in China. The concept “teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability” is determined, the theoretical and practical aspects of forming this phenomenon in the process of vocal and choral training are revealed. Criteria and indicators of formation of teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability are defined, a set of methods for diagnosing the formation of the phenomenon under study is developed. The efficiency of forming teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability during the performance of vocal and choral works is proved provided that favorable psychological environment for the learning process in choral classes is made; students’ emotional and volitional manifestations in choral and vocal activities are intensified; teenagers’ creative activity while performing vocal and choral works is promoted. The methodology of forming teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability during the performance of vocal and choral works is developed and experimentally verified. The methodology includes the sequence of pedagogical work according to the organizational and adaptive, emotional and stimulating, and self-regulatory stages. The efficiency of a set of methods and techniques of forming teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability during the performance of vocal and choral works is proved (psychological support; image concentration; self-control, self-esteem and self-regulation of the emotional state; volitional endurance; choral dramatization; creating success situations; presenting teenagers’ own abilities during the performance of vocal and choral works; reflexive comprehension of teenagers’ own thoughts and feelings while performing vocal and choral works). The efficiency of the methodology is confirmed by the positive dynamics at levels of formation of teenagers’ emotional and volitional reliability during the performance of vocal and choral works, it proves expediency and prospects of implementing this methodology education into comprehensive schools to improve the quality of students’ music.
