Rudavina I. Ukrainian Theatre Museums: Origin and Activities of Preservation and Transmission of Cultural Heritage (1923 - 1991)

The object of the research is the museum as a social and cultural phenomenon. From the standpoint of cultural studies the author conducts a comprehensive analysis of the prerequisites of the origin and the development trends of the museum institutions of the theater profile in the context of social and cultural processes of Ukraine in the period of 1923 - 1991. The author reveals the preservation and transmission of cultural heritage with the specific character of the activities of the theatre museums. The author improves the theoretical and methodological basis of studying museum institutions in the cultural paradigm as well as museum networks of Ukraine primarily as a social and cultural phenomenon. The author identifies the information resources, axiological and historical and cultural potential of theatre heritage converted to museum status for developing theater culture of Ukraine and shaping the national identity.
