The thesis is aimed at the solution of the problem of forming future German teachers’ phonetic competence at the beginner stage of foreign language learning known as the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course.The thesis contains an overview of the development of different approaches to the problem of forming phonetic competence in the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course. It also includes a study of psycholinguistic, psychological and didactic preconditions of the process. The thesis provides a definition of the essence of phonetic competence, specifies its structure and characterizes the components of phonetic competence.The research supplied special materials for the formation of phonetic competence in the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course and provided a theoretical foundation for creating a subsystem of specific exercises. The thesis offers and describes a cyclic concentric model of the process of forming phonetic competence in the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course.The effectiveness of the suggested method of forming phonetic competence in the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course has been experimentally confirmed.The results of the experiment have been summarized in a booklet that contains practical recommendations on the forming on phonetic competence in the Introductory Corrective Communicative Course.
