Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the validation of rational modes of biological stable water preparation. Content of natural organic matter (NOM) in the Dnieper river water and after conventional water treatment processes was estimated by seasons based on the determination of such parameters as dissolved organic carbon (DOC), absorption at a wavelength 254 nm, NOM aromaticity index (SUVA), color, content of biodegradable organic carbon (BDOC) and assimilable organic carbon (AOC) were established. It was shown that purification efficiency increase of Dnieper water by coagulation is achieved by a combination of raw water pre-ozonation followed by coagulation treatment. Reduction efficiency of DOC, BDOC and AOC content in water after its filtration through biologically active carbon (BAC) was researched. Regeneration methods of spent BAC were developed in terms of industrial exploitation. A principle technological circuit of biologically stable water production was purposed.
