The thesis is aimed at solving of actual scientific problem - radiation and hygienic assessment of radioanxiety level in Ukrainian population, namely among children born after 1986, and their parents. This paper addresses the scientific substantiation of measures to minimize radioanxiety status among the people. Based on comprehensive hygienic research it is estimated radioanxiety level in Ukrainian population (children and their parents) who live on contaminated and relatively "clean" areas. A high level (in a 5-point scale) of radioanxiety concerning radiation accidents among children and their parents is detected using subjective assessment of danger to their health. The features of subjective perception of radiation risks by second generation born after the Chornobyl accident have been established. The comparative analysis of subjective perception of radiation risk is performed in population at this stage depending on gender and age characteristics, education level and place of residence. It is developed the procedure of quantitative assessment of population radioanxiety level according to express questioning concerning indicators of radiation risks perception, and it is provided recommendations to minimize them.
