This research is dealt with evolution of security and defense component in foreign policy in the Scandinavian countries during the post-bipolar period. The focus is made upon collaboration of the noted countries with key players of the transatlantic security area - NATO and the EU; upon the role of Nordic countries in peacekeeping under the UN and regional cooperation between these countries, including the relationship with the Baltic countries.
