This paper deals with theoretical approaches to the environmental and economic support of sustainable alternative energy sources utilization as well as justifies the conceptual positions on development of this process. The author has discovered ecological and economic advantages and contradictions in the alternative energy sources utilization. The world experience of alternative energy development has been analyzed and summarized. The author has implemented environmental and economic analysis of the current status and efficiency of alternative energy sources utilization. Factors of influence on development of alternative energy have been defined and systematized. The author has improved environmental and economic toolkit of mechanisms for alternative energy sustainable development. The author has improved scientific and methodological approaches to assessing the efficiency of the alternative energy sources potential use. Areas of regulation and economic incentives for sustainable alternative energy sources utilization have been substantiated.
