The dissertation is a complex scientific research of the civil liability of the carrier under the contract of carriage of goods by road. The theoretical approaches to the definition of the concept and characteristic features of the contract of carriage of goods by motor transport are offered. The essence of the fulfillment of duties by the carrier under the contract of carriage of goods by motor transport is disclosed. The offenses in the field of carriage of goods by road are considered and classified and the conditions of civil liability of the carrier are defined. The grounds for the limiting the carrier's liability and grounds for discharging the carrier from liability for violation of the terms of the contract of carriage of goods by road are considered. The peculiarities of the carrier's civil liability for untimely submission of road transport to the place of loading of goods, for violation of the terms of delivery of goods, for loss, lack, spoilage or damage of goods are clarified. Theoretical propositions and practical recommendations for the improvement of the current legislation and judicial practice in the field of transportation of goods by motor transport are developed.
