Essay

The thesis investigates the impact of using authentic English language feature films (AELFF) on the shaping of sociocultural competence (SCC) of prospective specialists in foreign philology. The research provides theoretical substantiation and practical elaboration of the methodology for shaping SCC while performing a long-term sociocultural (SC) group multiple-purpose training project. The thesis is original in that it has offered a composition of SCC tangible enough to organize teaching / learning and assessment while utilizing AELFF within a training project, with stages of building SCC clearly defined; the procedure of shaping AELFF-based SCC has been aligned with a particular academic plan (2nd year, Spring term).
