Essay

In the study the outcomes of treatment of 98 patients with bile duct injuries acquired during laparoscopic cholecystectomy were analyzed. It was established that the possibility of one-stage correction depends significantly on the time of the diagnosis. The basic factors affecting immediate and late results of the treatment are: 1) the wrong choice of method of surgery; 2) reconstructive surgery performed in the setting of peritonitis; 3) lack of the surgeon's sufficient experience in operations on the bile ducts. Therapeutic and diagnostic algorithm was designed in which non-invasive methods of bile duct investigation were preferably researched, and surgical strategy is based on a multidisciplinary approach with rational use of the mini-invasive and surgical methods.
