The dissertation highlights the solution of actual scientific task in relation to development of method of expedient intervals determination for the technical diagnosticating of ship equipment at transoceanic freight transportations on the basis of prognostication. The general model of exploitation process for ship equipment at transoceanic freight transportations, which is based on the idea of forecasting control of individual reliability of ship equipment items, was first offered. The method of prognostication of the technical state parameters for the ship equipment items was improved on the basis of canonical decomposition of stochastic process, which, unlike existing, utilizes the algorithm of determination of the controlled parameter forecast values on an area, not overcame a priori statistical information. The theory of ship equipment exploitation of purchased subsequent development according to the actual technical state in relation to determination of the expedient technical diagnosticating intervals on the basis of prognostication of individual reliability of ship equipment elements.
