Shupa L. Medical insurance in the system of providing insurance of population protection

The object of the dissertation is medical insurance as a component of the system of providing insurance cover of the population. The aim of the thesis is to deepen the theoretical and conceptual foundations of medical insurance and develop practical recommendations on the prospects for its development in the system of providing insurance cover of the population. The methods: methods of scientific abstraction and generalization, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, observation and comparison, empirical description, grouping, statistical comparisons, sample surveys, structural analysis, correlation and regression analysis, formalization and economic modeling. The results: the theoretical and conceptual as well as methodological principles of medical insurance in the system of insurance cover of the population are developed and prospects for its development in Ukraine are outlined. The novelty – definition of medical insurance as a combination of socio-economic relations, scientific and theoretical approaches to the formation of a comprehensive system of insurance cover of population, conceptual foundations of medical insurance in the system of insurance cover of population as well as institutional principles of medical insurance are improved; development directions of medical insurance in Ukraine in the context of introducing budget and insurance medicine, the theoretical and methodical approach to monitoring business processes in the market of voluntary health insurance in Ukraine as well as the scientific and methodical approach to the formation of a flexible system of insurance tariffs for voluntary health insurance are further developed. The resultsare implemented into practical activity of the National Commission for State Regulation of Financial Services Markets, Insurance Business Association, TzDV Insurance Company VIP-CAPITAL, Insurance Company Kyiv Re, and into the educational process of Ternopil National Economic University.
