Essay

The thesis work is devoted to the investigation of the influence of the Soviet totalitarian ideology on the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian lexicographical practice as well as to the identification of the main trends in modern vocabulary processing of lexical units. Based on comparative analysis of the interpretations of words in Ukrainian lexicographical works of Soviet and post-Soviet era, the mechanisms of the release of the semantics of lexical items from the ideological connotations and the degree of their deideologization are defined.
