Kholodon O. Semantic variation of verb lexis in Eastern Polissia dialects.

Thesis is devoted to the analysis of the semantic variation of verb lexis in Eastern Polissia dialects. The need of complex analysis of regularities of verbs semantic structure forming, variation of these lexemes meanings in the Eastern Polissia dialects show the relevance of the study. In the thesis the systematic study of dialect verbs of motion, speech, separation, cooking, physiological action and hitting is made for the first time. The base of research is the data of nominative unites from 74 villages of Eastern Polissia. The material is analyzed in a two-vector way: from the meaning to its nominative representation and from the nominative unit to its semantics. It is revealed that the verb Eastern Polissia lexis is a complex system, units of which are grouped into lexico-semantic groups that have different structural organization, central and peripheral parts. In the base of every group is the oppositions of elements according to differential features. Every lexico-semantic group has a specific set of differential features which are determined by the ontology of named objects and the peculiarities of their perception by dialect speakers. In the structure of the researched lexico-semantic groups semantic symmetry and asymmetry of the oppositions, points of intersection of different lexico-semantic groups are highlighted.
