The dissertation is devoted to the research of the right of convicted to imprisonment for the humane treatment and respect for their human dignity. It is considered the general theoretical principles of ensuring the right of convicted to imprisonment for the humane treatment and respect for their human dignity, in particular, analyzed the current situation of the scientific development of issues of this right. It was studied the correlation of the right of those convicted to imprisonment for the humane treatment and respect for their human dignity with the principles of humanism and respect for human rights and freedoms. Particular attention is given to international standards and practices to ensure the right of convicted to imprisonment for the humane treatment and respect for their human dignity
