Essay

The thesis summarizes the results of the study of species composition, distribution, diagnosis of pathogens and control measures for capillariasis in chickens in Poltava region. The dependence of the extensiveness and intensity indicators of capillariasis infection of the season, chicken age, and housing systems is studied. The infections commonly associated with capillariasis are determined. New data on fauna of chicken pathogens of capillariasis are obtained. In Poltava region, capillariasis pathogens belong to three species: Capillariа obsignata, C. bursata, and C. caudinflata. Capillariasis influence on morphological and biochemical indicators of blood in chickens of different age and technological groups, and on the growth, development and productivity of infected birds is studied. The method intravital copro-ovoscopic diagnostics is improved and proposed for implementation. It is highly efficient when compared to the methods of Fulleborn, Kotelnikov-Khrenov, Mallory, and the urea method. Modern antihelminthics are tested implementing different administration methods in birds, infected with capillariasis. The «Brovermectin» 2 % water-soluble and «Brovalemisole» 8 % are shown to be highly (100 %) efficient against chicken capillariasis.
