Brygadyr I. Genesis and genre peculiarities of Ukrainian retrodetective fiction of the beginning of XXI century

For the first time the complete investigation of retro detective fiction in Ukrainian literature of the beginning of XXI century is made. The genesis of detective and retro detective genres is found and the definition of retro detective fiction is fashioned. The elements of detective stories in Ukrainian literature of early modernism on the material of Michael Kotsjubinsky, Ivan Franko and Olga Kobylyanska are investigated. The functioning of the detective plot and associated poetics of characters are analyzed. The peculiarities of Ukrainian espionage prose are also revised in the dissertation, special attention is given to the novel "And one is a soldier in the field" written by Y. Dold-Mykhailyk; the analysis of changes in the development of this genre in Ukrainian literature from the mid-twentieth to the early twenty-first century is 20 also given. A part of this dissertation is devoted to the research of the actuality of artistic tradition of detective adventure prose about children in contemporary literature. The author investigates M. Trublaini’s works in the context of artistic tradition of detective prose in modern literature. The features of postmodern historical novel in retro detective fiction are investigated in another chapter. Particular attention is given to the distinction between the definitions and main differences of retro detective and historical detective novels. It also deals with the concept of historiographic metafiction, the process of realization of two skeptical views of history such as alternative history and crypto-history is discussed
