Essay

The thesis deals with the repair technology improvement for field main pipelines by means of arc brazing as an alternative to arc welding for joining sockets and the pipe. The experimental investigations have shown that in case of arc brazing of PMTP-150 pipes with the use of copper-based fillers the joint strength is equal to the strength of the base metal, the corrosion re-sistance of joint metal is ensured, there is the minor destruction of zinc coating in the areas adjacent to the joint, which is an-odically protected. The stress and strain state of brazed joints of PMTP-150 pipes has been studied with internal pressure load, the rational form of grooving has been defined, which will help to reduce the circular stress by 21% in the transition area be-tween joint and base metal. The new pipe repair flow chart has been developed, the mobile pipe repair complex has been de-signed, which will help to reduce expenses and repair time.
