The aim of this thesis is to study psychological peculiarities of the emotional intelligence in juveniles with propensity towards victim behaviour. The work defines theoretical approaches to the study of the emotional intelligence in juveniles with propensity towards victim behaviour. It specifies the nature of the emotional intelligence, an inclination towards victim behaviour, the specificity of youthful age that might give rise to an inclination towards victim behaviour, substantiates the relation between emotional intelligence and propensity towards victim behaviour etc. The author examines the levels of the propensity towards victim behaviour (high, medium and low). The author also examines gender / age-related, social / demographic and institutional / professional characteristics of the propensity to victim behaviour, on one hand, and of the emotional intelligence on the other hand. The work reveals psychological peculiarities of the emotional intelligence in juveniles with propensity towards victim behaviour and determines relative importance of the components which form the emotional intelligence for the development of such a propensity. A programme was substantiated and tested and the guidelines were worked out for the development of the emotional intelligence in juveniles with propensity towards victim behaviour.
