The thesis is devoted to the theoretical and experimental investigation of the problem of the formation of singing abilities of high school students in the circle work. Psychological and pedagogical peculiarities of pupils of the senior school age are singled out, the importance of classes in the vocal circle is emphasized, which are the way to realize the creative potential of high school students. The developed component structure of singing abilities of high school students, which includes: a motivational component that allows to determine the degree of aspiration of high school students for the development of their own singing abilities and the degree of their interest in vocal art; Competence component, expressing the degree of possession of vocal-technical and artistic-performing skills; a creative-evaluative component that encompasses the formation of the skills of high school students to diagnose their own singing voice and the voices of other performers. The developed technique of formation of singing abilities of senior pupils is introduced, which consists of four interrelated stages of training: information-motivational, cognitive-evaluative, creative-performing, corrective-constructive. At each stage of the formative experiment, the goal was clearly formed, appropriate methods of organization of students' learning activities were selected and communication and interpenetration of all directions of work on the formation of singing abilities of high school students were ensured. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results of experimental work, their statistical processing confirmed the effectiveness of the developed methodology for the formation of singing abilities of high school students.
