Chusovitina N. Yellow rust of winter wheat and original material creating resistant to the pathogen (Puccinia striiformis West. f. sp. tritici Erikss. Et Henn.) In southern steppe of Ukraine conditions.

Object of study. The pathogen development on the samples of different origin under artificial inoculation; associations between disease severity and plants' main biological and agronomic traits and characteristics. The aim of study is to determine the particular features of yellow rust development on the winter wheat samples of different origin and select the sources and donors of resistance for plant breeding programs. The spreading and severity of yellow rust was achieved. The samples which combine resistance to yellow rust with complex of agronomical traits were selected. The resistance of samples of Ukrainian and foreign origin to the yellow rust under artificial inoculation was evaluated. It was determined that varieties Guebon, Burbot 4, Raduza and line 367/06 are the sources of resistance against disease. The obtained results were introduced and used in the institutions: PBGI - NCSCI, ASIS, SNAU.
