The thesis contains a study of the theoretical and practical aspects of referendum as a form of direct democracy. The thesis provides the results of research into the procedural and epistemological aspects of referendum as a form of direct democracy, discloses the role and importance of referendum in the structure of constitutional law and in the system of fields of law, reveals the historical and legal genesis of referendum from ancient times to the present and ascertains the value of referendum being a form of direct democracy for the development of constitutional legal relationship.
