Essay

The object is the physical fields occurring in the interaction of electromagnetic waves with the measuring structures of complex geometry. The goal is to develop new methods for measuring of gas permittivity using quasi-optical resonator in the feedback loop of an amplifier or quasi-optical oscillator, and permittivity of high-loss liquids using a waveguide-differential dielectrometer. Methods - scattering matrix method for numerical modeling; experimental measurements of attenuation, phase shift, frequency, power, and quality factor. Results - the experimental prototypes of quasi-optical generators with an output signal of fundamental or the second harmonic, which have a low level of frequency noise and developed for measuring tropospheric refraction index; a differential dielectrometer has been developed for express-analysis of high-loss liquid permittivity. Scope - instrumentation and metrology
