The dissertation is devoted to deepening of theoretical and methodical principles of property insurance of citizens and development of recommendations on directions of its activation. The theoretical bases of citizens property insurance are determined. The role of citizens property insurance, its place in the modern classification of insurance is revealed. The history of property insurance of citizens in Ukraine is explored. The estimation of probability of material losses of real estate of the population is carried out. The advantages of introducing mandatory forms of housing insurance are substantiated. The recommendations for assessing the quality of citizens property insurance have been developed. The proposals on improving the legal and regulatory framework for the possibility of realizing insurance remotely and using bank insurance are substantiated.
