Essay

The object – chemical and toxicological investigation of sertindole and ziprasidone; the purpose – to develop a scheme for chemical and toxicological analysis of biological material when sertindol and ziprasidone are poisoned, which includes the search for effective and rapid methods of these compounds isolation and purification, as well as methods of their identification and quantification, suitable for the purposes of forensic and clinical toxicology; methods – chromogenic reactions, thin-layer chromatography, UV-spectrophotometry, fluorometry, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, chromato-mass-spectrometry; results – methods of isolation of sertindole, ziprasidone and their metabolites from organs and biological fluids of the organism have been developed, a complex of techniques of identification and quantitative determination of the investigated compounds in samples of biological material has been developed, using chromogenic tests, thin-layer chromatography, UV spectrophotometry, fluorometry, gas chromatography with mass spectrometry, high performance liquid chromatography with UV detection and mass spectrometry; the structure of the major sertindole and ziprasidone metabolites was determined by chromato-mass-spectrometry and their distribution in the biological material of animals was studied; techniques of fluorometry and high-performance liquid chromatography with a mass-selective detector for quantitative determination of sertindole and ziprasidone in liver, blood and urine specimens were validated; the distribution of the investigated compounds in organs of poisoned animals was studied, which allows to select the optimal objects for forensic investigation; introduced – into educational processes and scientific work of a number of specialized departments of the National pharmaceutical university, I. Gorbachevsky Ternopil state medical university, Zaporizhzhya state medical university, Ivano-Frankivsk national medical university, Odessa national medical university, as well as in the practical work of the Odessa regional bureau of forensic medicine; research area – pharmacy.
