This dissertation is dedicated to a problem of formation of methodological competenceof the future musical art teacher in the process of piano training. Taking into account peculiarities of teaching music that include not only acquisition of knowledge but also development of the necessity to communicate with music in students, capability to feel its beauty, it was established that the methodological component takes pride of place in the structure of professional competency of any upcoming Music Teacher. In the dissertation it is recorded that any competent Music Teacher shall have not only a high level of informative and performing competency, but also he or she shall be able to effectively organize the process of education. The research theoretically substantiates the structural components of methodological competency of upcoming Music Teachers such as: comprehensively motivated, artistically cognitive, personally active, regulatory reflexive. It is determined that effectiveness of training of upcoming experts is provided with implementation a range of conditions in the process of education. It is developed main methodological mechanisms of implementation of the underlined conditions.The experimental part includes methods as follows: creation of artistic context, modeling of educational situations, elective method, method of intonational-style comprehension of music, method of emotional dramaturgy, analytical-synthetic method. The suggested experimental technique of formation of methodological competency of upcoming Music Teachers was made of three stages.Scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that: a method and a model of gradual training for formation of methodological competency of the upcoming Music Teachers in the process of playing the main music instrument as a polystructural formation takes into account musical and performing, artistic and informative, as well as reflexive and verbal components. Practical importance of the research results lies in implementation of an educational program of an authorial special course "Fundamentals of Methodological competency". The results of the research may be used for development of the teaching and methodological aids, education programs, and methodological guidelines, tips regarding formation of the methodological competency of students of at higher artistic and pedagogic educational institutions.
