Essay

The problem of maternity is vital for the modern Ukrainian society. On one hand Ukraine has a deep national family culture, but on the other hand, the change of the society values, social priorities of the women have complex impact on maternity. Due to the social importance of the problem and absence of corresponding scientific research results, the goal of our study was to explore the peculiarities of women's tolerance as the prerequisite of their psychological preparedness for future maternity. The results of the ascertaining experiment have proved that there exists a material relation between the tolerance components parameters and parameters of the psychological preparedness for maternity, which proves our hypothesis. Based on the theoretical provisions and results of the ascertaining experiment we have developed a tolerance development system for women as the prerequisite of their psychological preparedness for maternity. A system of indicators has been identified that characterize the structural components of tolerance that affect the psychological readiness of women to their future motherhood (value and motivational component: value orientations and basic guidelines, cognitive component: awareness of the essence of tolerance and its value in personal life, motivation to increase it, education on tolerance, emotional component: empathic abilities and self-adaptation, behavioral component: communicative tolerance, self-actualization, volitional self-regulation). The criterion to determine the tolerance degrees (true tolerance, quasitolerance, pseudotolerance, external tolerance), which lies in the maturity degree of its structural components. The types of women are distinguished by the formation of tolerance and psychological readiness for motherhood (ideal mother, conformal mother, proactive mother, tolerant non-mother, open mother, selfish mother, egocentric mother). Our tolerance development system for women as the prerequisite of their psychological preparedness for maternity has proved its effectiveness and necessity of introduction into the system of training future mothers.
